Colin-on-Cars – Gearing up for Festival of Motoring

The 2021 Festival of Motoring at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit will go ahead in August next year – or, at least primary sponsors WesBank are moving forward with the planning.

The pandemic has been an unfortunate setback for the events industry as a whole, but WesBank, is gearing up for its fifth edition at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

The 2021 Festival of Motoring will focus on the celebration and achievements of the automotive industry, while highlighting innovation and the car buying aspirations for the youth of South Africa. The content and marketing of the festival will focus on these three elements.

Central to the event remains the experiential platform provided for vehicle manufacturers to display and demonstrate their latest models, products and services. Other attractions on offer include five national motorsport events, an electric vehicle village, a revamped 4X4 village and a high-tech gaming arcade.  The four-day festival is also jam-packed with interactive and fun activations including the kids’ zone, a braai area and so much more, making it the perfect family outing.

In addition, the 2021 event will see the launch of an important social investment programme, The FoM Charity Drive, encouraging involvement from all festival goers. Visitors will experience an interactive showcase of both active and static content including supercars, classic cars, vintage and modern motorsport activations. One can also expect to engage with leading industry-related aftermarket and accessories companies, who will be exhibiting during the event. With an extended day for the second year running, the festival promises to be a highlight on the annual events calendar once again.

“Our involvement in this annual motoring festival enables us to contribute to an event that stimulates interest and creates excitement in an ecosystem which we are passionate about.
