Colin-on-Cars – Upgrades for the Renault Triber

The Renault Triber has been upgraded and modernised with a wider rear and six-way adjustment for the driver’s seat among the list of changes.

Launched in February 2020, the Triber model achieved 4 200 sales in Covid times showing a strong growth during the 2020 launch year, with an improved segment share in (AB Entry) Q1 2021.

The space inside the new Renault Triber is designed to offer four seating modes and 100 seating combinations where configurations include:  CAMP MODE [2-seater]; SURF MODE [4-seater]; LIFE MODE [5-seater] and TRIBE MODE [7-seater].  The EasyFix seats allow for the two rear seats within the third row to be completely removed with ease.

The Triber also features 625 litres [in 5-seater mode] of boot space. Further to that, the interior of the vehicle is equipped with smart stowage spaces of up to 31 litres, with a cold storage facility within the centre console.

The power steering wheel has newly introduced steering mount controls for added convenience, with thumb contours, ensuring less effort to turn the wheel for a sharper turning angle.

A gear shift indicator on the digital tachometer assists with driving at an optimum speed for better fuel efficiency, while the on-board computer keeps the driver informed about relevant driving-related info, such as fuel consumption, average speed and distance to empty.

The easy-to-use 8-inch MediaNav Evolution touchscreen comes integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Voice Command button and video playback on the screen, while a Smart Access Card for Keyless Entry and Stop/ Start functionality enable an easier driving experience.

It has a new generation 1,0 litre 3-cylinder petrol Energy Engine that generates 52 kW with 96 Nm torque and offer a claimed fuel efficiency from only 5,5 l/ 100 km.

The Triber is equipped with anti-lock braking and high passive safety level with equipment such as emergency lock retractor, 3-points front and second row seat belts (side only) with retractors, 3-points on third row seat belts without retractor, Pyrotechnic pre-tensioner driver seat belt, driver and passenger crash bags across the range, front side crash bags on Prestige and reinforced body structure.

The Triber also features Rear Parking Sensors which alert of any obstacles within 50 m, to ensure ease of parking, a newly introduced dual hooter as an effective early warning system, as well as LED indicators housed within the side mirrors for better visibility of driving intent.

The range comes standard with a 2-year/ 30 000 km Service Plan, plus a 5-year/150 000 km mechanical warranty and a 6-year anti-corrosion warranty. Services take place at 15 000 km intervals.
